About the syrian hamster

Syrians are territorial and will fight to the death if housed together, which is why ours are separated the day they are sexed. They also need far more floor space than the cages usually sold alongside them: 0.5 square metres minimum, 25cm of bedding, and a 28cm wheel. Get that right and they are a genuinely rewarding first animal.

If any of that changes your mind, that is the page doing its job. Nobody loses a deposit for deciding against an animal after reading about it.

  • We will decline if the setup is not right

    If the tank has not cycled or the housing is undersized, we will say so, tell you what would change it, and hold the animal while you sort it out. That is the reason there is no checkout on this page.
